West Sicily Gate Streetball Tournament: An Unmissable Event for Cruise Ship Crews!
On 26 September 2024, the Vittorio Veneto pier was the stage for an extraordinary event organised by West Sicily Gate: the Streetball Tournament, designed for the crews of cruise ships! A unique opportunity for sport, fun and socialising, which saw 10 teams take to the field, formed by the crews of the Costa Toscana and Costa Fascinosa ships.
The Piazzale Est area, located between the quays of the Vittorio Veneto North and South Pier, was the beating heart of the event, which was supported by the Port System Authority and sponsored by OSP and Portitalia. But the surprises didn’t end there: the crew of the Marella Discovery 2, docked at the nearby Vittorio Veneto South Pier, spontaneously joined the tournament, adding a special touch to an already unforgettable day!
Thanks to the resounding success and enthusiastic participation, West Sicily Gate is already planning the next edition, scheduled for spring 2025.
The event will be even more exciting, with the participation of other ships from different cruise companies!
