Appointment of the new General Manager

Palermo, 6 June 2025 – The Board of Directors of West Sicily Gate S.r.l., the company holding the concession to manage the cruise terminals in the ports of Palermo, Trapani, Porto Empedocle, and Termini Imerese, has appointed Engineer Antonino Corrao as the new CEO, replacing Dr Antonio Di Monte.

West Sicily Gate would like to thank Dr Antonio Di Monte for his valuable contribution and the results achieved during his tenure as CEO in the crucial start-up and consolidation phase of the company. Antonino Corrao has been employed by the company for several years as Operations Manager and Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO), and has extensive managerial experience in the industrial sector, especially in the Automotive and Oil & Gas sectors. In his role as head of operations and security, he contributed to the development of West Sicily Gate in its initial phase, acquiring the necessary skills in the port sector and specifically in the cruise industry. His appointment comes at a time of positive momentum and growth for the company, which is experiencing a steady increase in traffic and a strengthening presence across the Western Sicily port system. In 2024, the number of calls totalled 276, with 987,659 passengers handled (+176% compared to 2022), including 179,657 embarking and disembarking and 808,002 in transit visiting the cities. Engineer Corrao’s leadership will be key to continuing this upward trend and further consolidating operational and quality processes.
